I keep fanfiction- and fandom-related stuff open to the public, but personal entries, rants, memes, squeeage, real life stuff, and other such things are only viewable to myself and friends. Please feel free to comment so I can add you! :)

Using [info]lucidscreamer's Write or Die, I wrote a tiny one-shot.

It's about how on earth, in one of those magical post-canon universes in which Yami has a body, Yugi manages to teach Yami about the wonders of showers. Sort of. Rated PG, and a sprinkle of puzzleshipping, because I couldn't help myself.

Also, it's rushed. Briefly edited. But still, here it is.

'So how long's he been in there?' )

I'm not doing anything special today. I was going to, but then got lazy. Maybe next year I'll be something awesome, but I had no creativity for anything this year.

I did, however, see a kid running around with a Duel Disk. Made my day.

I could give you all a scary picture but I'm not that mean (unlike some people on my flist D;), so instead, here are some Halloween-related MLIAs.

No seriously, click, they're pretty funny. No tricks here, I promise. )

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

For one week, recommend / share:
Day 1: a song
Day 2: a picture
Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day 4: a site
Day 5: a youtube clip
Day 6: a quote

Day 7: whatever tickles your fancy

I... have no idea what to post. Here are just some pictures. And gifs. And snippets of fanfics/stories that I'm working on. And doodles. And whatever tickles my fancy.

Image-heavy, probably. )

For those on my flist who are in the YGO fandom and are interested in fanfics, [info]teh_amazing_one has a new comm up, [info]ygo_twist, for fanfictions and fanart and what-have-you that takes a typical/overused plot/theme and adds a "twist" to it. For instance, if you have a Yami/Yugi fic, that's fine, but it can't be something like "Yugi is being bullied and Yami saves the day and they have hot sex and live sparkily ever after." Something has to make that story different from all the other ones.

I put up my own fic there, a one-shot which is Joey/Mai and deals with how many stories I've seen where Mai is having nightmares about YnM and Battle City and all; so I twisted that (-shot-) and figured that Joey, in all honesty, would probably be having more nightmares than she would, given all that he's been through. That fic is here in ze comm, and it's been okay'd, so I guess that kind of stuff is fine to show off there.

So yeah, uh, join. c:

... This silly English homework has me all confuzzled. It keeps referring to "the" thesaurus, which makes it sound like I should have a specific thesaurus that goes along with this vocab book, but my teacher didn't mention any. My friends are having a similar problem, so I can't be the only one who's puzzled. -headdesk-

If someone discusses UFOs at a party, do you assume they're a visionary or bonkers? Do you consider yourself a believer or a skeptic?

I think the proper question is, "When I babble on about my theories of aliens/mole people/ghosts/etc in local gatherings, does anybody actually pay attention or are they secretly gossiping about that weird short girl with their friends?"

On second thought, I don't really care if they do or not. At least I'm entertaining, or so some say.

I spent the night at Kelsey's with Victoria. We had a good time; we made gluten-free pancakes and played guitar and did some other stuff that would probably be very boring to other people. xD

Dad invited me to some rally downtown but I said no because I have homework. So if this is a really big deal and in twenty years people ask me if I was there, I'll be saying, "No, I was doing work for my IB classes." Kind of like my 7th grade Social Studies teacher, when he was asked where he was at Martin Luther King Jr. protest: "I was three, and I stayed home so I could watch cartoons."

Also I might be getting a flu shot for the H1N1/swine flu/whatever-you-call-it virus that's going around. I NEVER get flus, only very mild colds, so I don't know why my parents are worrying about this, but I guess it can't hurt.

And that's what's up today. Off to homework now, I suppose.

[edit]

I JUST REALIZED THAT I MISSED YGO AGAIN THIS MORNING. AND I EVEN WOKE UP IN TIME, TOO. FFFFFFF

Just a post to let everybody know that if I disappear for a while, I'm not dead, but I'm probably dying slowly under my textbooks and schoolwork. This year is going to require a lot of dedication and time, so I don't know if I'll have enough time for fandom as I would like.

So... yeah. Needless to say, the majority of my fanfics are going on hold. I'll write when I get the chance, but there are absolutely no promises. :/ I'll try my best to keep up with my flist, but I probably won't be commenting, so... yeah.

Hopefully this won't be forever (forever = the next ten months). It was just the second day, and I hope I'll get the hang of things as I go through the year. But for now, I figure it's best to start the year off stronger than weaker. I've taken hard classes like this before, just not as many all at once, and I think that's the thing that'll be challenging for me.

Right, so that's all I have to say. Oh, aside from this: today I turned around at lunch and saw my friend Lilly playing YGO with some other guy. I watched them for a while - there was no arm-waving or shouting or anything and it was much less dramatic than the show of course - and when Lilly saw me watching she asked "Oh, do you play?"

"No," I told her, then added, "but I watch the show."

"That's still on?"

"They've got two spin-off series(es?) showing, but they've started replaying the original episodes on Saturday mornings, too."

She genuinely looked interested, which absolutely made my day.

Hmm, that's all I really have to report. Off to take a shower, now~
